Dnipropetrovsk
The city of Dnipropetrovsk (Ukr.) or Dnepropetrovsk (Rus.) is situated on the Dnieper River (Dnepr or Dnipro) in East-Central Ukraine, and has a population of, ~ 1.1 million. Large and beautiful, it is the main city of East-Central Ukraine.
Lugansk
Lugansk (pronounced in Ukrainian as Luhansk) region is situated in eastern Ukraine and borders on the Russian Federation in the east , the north and the south. The total length of the state border in our region is about 700 km.
Sevastopol
Sevastopol (Sevastopil in Ukrainian) was founded one year before Simferopol, in 1773. It was chosen as a navy base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet because there are many big and calm bays around the area. The city growed quickly and always was military. It was closed twice during Soviet time and people could get there with special permit only.
Lviv
Lviv (Lvov in Russian) was founded as a fort in the mid-13th century by Prince Danylo Halitski of Galicia, a former principality of Kyivan Rus. The first mention of Lviv in early chronicles is from 1256, although archeological excavation in 1993 revealed that the first settlements appeared in the 6th century. Galicia, with Lviv as its chief city, has kept its identity despite many boundary changes and centuries of rule by outside powers
Donetsk
Donetsk is the administrative centre of the Donetsk region. It was founded in 1689 by English technician-metallurgist J.J.Hughes who built the smithy that became the first production line of future metallurgical plant. Donetsk was known as Hughsofka till 1924 and Stalino till 1961.
Odessa
Odessa (Odesa in Ukrainian) is the capital of Odessa region, in Ukraine, a port on Odessa Bay of the Black Sea. Territory 160 square km. Population 1,122,000 (1995). The third largest Ukrainian city after Kiev and Kharkov, a major industrial, cultural, scientific, and resort center in the Northern Black Sea region. Russians, Ukrainians, and Jews predominate in Odessa's cosmopolitan population.
Yalta

Cherkasy
Cherkasy is a regional and district city situated on the Right Bank of the Dnieper in the area of the Kremenchug reservoir. The population of Cherkasy is over 300,000.
Kharkiv
Kharkiv (Kharkov in Russian) is one of the Ukrainian region centres, rightfully carrying the title of a Ukrainian megalopolis - is a giant of the national industry, a big educational and cultural centre, and the biggest transport node of the Country of Ukraine.
Kherson
The foundation stone of Kherson was laid the autumn of 1778 on the Lower Dnipro. This town soon has become the cradle of the Black Sea fleet of Russia. The city was built by Ganibal - the grandfather of the Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
Mariupol
Mariupol was known from the beginning of the XVI century as the Cossacks fortress Kalmius. After the migration of the Greeks from the Crimea to that region in 1780 the town was renamed in Mariupol at their request.
Simferopol
Simferopol (Simferopil) is the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The population of the city is over 400,000.
Kiev
Kiev (also known as Kyiv), a scenic city of close to 3 million people located on the Dnieper (Dnipro) River, is the bustling capital of Ukraine. The town's area amounts to 790 sq. kilometers.
Woods, parks and public gardens make up over half of its area. Kiev is called one of the world's greenest cities. It is the largest political, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Ukraine.
